I prefer Callista. I also like Calliandra, which sounds like a mash up of both names.
Callista, 100,000%.
It’s pretty, spunky, and I love the nickname Callie.
Alexandra is the biggest yawn of all. Maybe right up there with Mary, Maria and Jane. Nothing particularly wrong or “ugly”, just extremely boring and blah, without sparkle.

I prefer Callista because it's fresher than Alexandra.
I always immediately go to nicknames. Alexandra has so many; Al, Alex, Lex, Lexi, Sasha, Sandra, Sandy, Sandrine, etc, so a child could pick and choose which fits their identity better, and most if not all are pleasant to the ear. Callista, however, is mostly just Cally, or Lista if you're particularly precious, both of which are not to my tastes. Cally makes me think of America. I prefer the meaning of Callista but prefer the history of Alexandra. So, Alexandra personally.
I both love it.
I quite agree with mirfak on this:
P.S. No one asked, but I'd prefer Callisto to Callista and Alexandria to Alexandra.

Callista for me. Strong, bold, beautiful, and different.
