I do not like it, especially spelled Karlie. Carly to me, teeters on the border between Elsie type names and Madison type names. It is a legitimate nickname, but it's so often been spelled creatively that it can't have the same feel that something like Ellie has. Karlie, on the other hand, is totally an older sister to Paisleigh and a younger sister to Ashli.

However, I do love Callie, which is to me seems analogous to Janie or Eliza, but which most people seem to think belongs more in the Kayley, Kinsley group.
