I don't like it at all. It reminds me of meat, like venison. It also sounds like a brand rather than an actual name. I like Verena much better, it's not the best but at least it rhymes with Serena. Veronica and Vera are much better alternatives to both.

I’m not a fan of Venera. It reminds me of the veneral disease as well. Verena I also don’t really care for. I like Vera and Veronica, though.

I want to love it, but I don't like how it sounds when I say it.

The sound itself is fine and even a bit pretty. However to echo what everybody else said it sounds like it should be the name of some sort of sexual disease. I highly prefer Vera, Veronica, or Vesna. Serena is a good alternative too.

I echo what has been said about veneral disease. Verena however makes me think of spring (vernal) so I don't have the same problem with that.

Verena is fine but I wouldn’t use it, Verena sounds like venereal disease.

I would strongly advise anyone to stick to Vera or Verity or Veronica. Of the three, I prefer Verity, but anything is better than sounding like a sexually transmitted disease all one's life.

Both remind me of venereal diseases.
