Terrance is unexpected: whatever happened to Terence? I don't mind Terence, but it's unlikely to retain that form. A friend's wife was pregnant and I asked the obvious question: what will you name the baby? They chorused "Terry", and I said "And if it's a girl?". Still in chorus, they said "Terry" and I was silenced. For the record, she's Terry Ellen, Ellen after a grandmother.
