Never heard it on an Italian male (I’m Italian), I’ve only ever encountered it as a surname. Marian names are falling out of use anyway.

That makes me sad.

Why? People are becoming less religious and it’s a type of name that’s perceived as very dated and Southern working class. Names like Concetta and Annunziata aren’t seen as pretty.
