[Opinions] Evert
What do you think of the name Evert (pronounced eh-vurt)?
It's a family name passed down, and I was going to use it as a middle name for my son but my husband likes it as a first name instead.
Thanks for your feedback!

I think it would be better in the middle. I feel like it seems like Everett, but incomplete and wouldn't want to use it as first name because people may get them confused.
First I think of Chris Evert, the tennis player.
Then I think, it's a word like convert, revert, avert, and invert. (but said ee-VERT, so that's not that important)
Then I think, it's like a contraction of the fashionable name Everett, influenced by the goofy "name" Ever.
I like the name Everett and I think Evert is not as good. It sounds a little dorky. I'd like Evret more.
But it's usable. My impression is mostly that it's a surname-name, that relates a bit to trends. So, it's OK. I think if my husband were really attached to it as a first name, and I didn't hate it, I might be willing to use it. I can picture calling a kid or a man by it, and it's not uncomfortable. I think it might often be mistaken for Everett, but w/e.

I think it would be better as a mn due to spelling and pronouciation issues and constantly getting mixed up with Everett
It’s cute, but I think it’ll be mistaken for Everett a lot so it would be better as a middle imo.
