[Facts] Something to try out

This is a reverse dictionary of name meanings. Start typing into the search box to see meanings that match, then open the meaning to see the names that match it. You can use the letter links to browse all meanings. There are also a handful of compound meanings listed at the bottom of the page.

There are now several improvements including the display of user-submitted names. This tool has replaced the "Name Themes" item in the menu. You can still access the old Name Themes page at https://www.behindthename.com/names/themes but it will no longer be actively maintained. I'll move the items from the bottom of that page to other locations (maybe the name popularity page) in the near future.
Hopefully this is a fun tool and please let me know of any bugs or problems!

Amazing!!!
I love this so far!
Wow, this is really neat! Thank you for building this.
This is quite useful, thanks Mike! :)
Will more names that are already in the main database be added to the reverse dictionary soon?

Thanks for the feedback. :)
I will update the dictionary as new names (with novel meanings) are added. Please suggest any meanings you think ought to be included in the dictionary now. If there are names that should be listed under particular meaning but are not (or names that are erroneously showing under the wrong meaning), please let me know and I will check to see if the search needs to be tweaked.

At first glance, I was surprised to see Sage wasn't under the spice category.
