[Opinions] Primrose and Renesmee
Replies
I don't think of Renesmee as an actual name, just a Twilight meme. I like Primrose mostly as a middle name.
They're both over-the-top verging on too much, but I kind of love that about them. However Renesmée looks more complete to me.
Esme is a family name, and Renee was a good friend who died in a car accident on honeymoon. I like them both, but only separately.
Primrose: I'm not fond of Rose manes in gemeral, and who wants to be prim? Plus, I can't shake off the memory of a homicidal doctor in the UK who used to kill his elderly patients while doing house calls, steal their jewellery and take it home to his wife, Primrose, who cheerfully wore it. Not the fault of her name, of course, but still not something I like to think about.

Primrose is ok--it's strong and elegant.
I love the sound of Renesmee although I don't like the double "e" at the end, spelling-wise. Only thing I like about Twilight.

Primrose is elegant and romantic.
Renesmee is a tawdry confection.

Together they definitely sound like teenage fangirl favorites from several years ago. Primrose additionally has a prissy, cliched Victorian-storybook sound. I think Renesmee actually has a rather attractive ring to it though it's a bit hard to sort out the sounds at first. When I first saw it I would have guessed it was a Hispanic or maybe Haitian creation.
