[Opinions] Wade
WDYT of Wade?
Replies
I find it very unappealing, I don't think it looks or sounds nice at all. I can't imagine meeting a young kid and asking his name and getting told 'Wade'... just no.
I don’t like the sound or the imagery I get of people standing in water, those rubbery overall like outfits and the thought of being weighed down. I also associate it with the geeky tech kid that never left his room in Kim Possible.
I like it, the name sounds very down-to-earth boy-next door. Someone you want to be friends with.
I feel like it's sort of a midcentury style name. Like Dave, Dale, Dennis, Darrell, Wayne, and Duane.
It's slightly associated with 70s rock'n'roll to me but I am not sure why. Unless it's because of the softspoken Wade who had the locker next to mine in high school, who was a metal fan? Maybe that is all it is.
Anyway yeah. Kinda dated and dorky, and I don't like the sound of WAY- in names personally, but I can see its appeal.
It doesn't walk on water, but I can see why it's still in the mainstream. (I could not resist)
The sound of it seems like it should be fashionable now, plus the word-like quality, and well-known surname.
I watch for it to start appearing on girls, maybe.
