I don't like it. It has the feel of a bloke of my parent's era who went by "Gav" who may or may not have dealt drugs, but certainly whose favourite hobby was a pub crawl. He smokes. It also sounds like an older chav name, complete with the tracksuit. "Gav," has that hard, simple quality to it. It's not a friendly sounding name to me.
