[Opinions] Jermaine
For a woman? This is a character I came across earlier today and wondered what others thought?Via Veritas Vita

I think Charmaine and Germaine make more sense for a woman. I like those. It's easy to believe women have been named Jermaine, though. For a female character, I have about the same image I would for Jordan.

I know Germaine (that spelling anyway) is a well-known French female name. But in the US, the name (especially the J spelling) is pretty much exclusively a name that was popular for black boys in the seventies and eighties. No doubt influenced by Jermaine Jackson.

Jermaine Jackson of the Jackson Five comes to mind as well as the word germane, although that word isn't commonly used in my neck of the woods. But germane to this topic, I once knew a poodle named Charmaine. I like Charmaine better for a woman than Jermaine. It's a nice alternative to Charlotte.
