The one I love the most here is
Patricia. Because is sounds pretty and is friendly and retro. Like some of my other favorite late 20th century names. (Although the peak occurred during World War II) I don't know why I feel that way about
Patricia. In some ways, I think it's a pretty unusual name compared to my usual tastes. I think the reason is that I'm from Korea, so I think I may perceive the name differently than you.
Daphne is okay. Was it 2 years ago? I didn't particularly like it at the time, but it was a name I was interested in. I think the reason is probably because of Scooby Doo. But I don't think the association to Scooby Doo is as obvious as
Velma. And I don't think the association to Greek mythology is strong either. First of all, I think it's pretty mainstream.
Carol it's not my style. It reminds me of Captain
Marvel. I don't think the association to Captain
Marvel is very strong.
Doreen is my least favorite here. I think it sounds similar to
Dorcas, a name I personally don't like. And it seems to have a mid-century feel, probably because of the -een ending.
