The movement for Scottish independence seems to have lost momentum, and some Scottish royalty had acceptable names. Might be amusing to have, say:
King Kenneth
King Duncan
King Alastair (or Alexander, but let's be regional)
King David
King Robert
The late Queen's sister was Margaret Rose, both of which would do nicely. And I was surprised to find a Queen Anabella of Scotland. How about Queen Annabel? Henrietta is very heavy, but Queen Harriet sounds much livelier. Harriet Rose. I like it.

I'd actually love to see super old (or medieval) royal names make a comeback. Wikipedia says that their was a King Alfred of Wessex in the 10th century, as well as a King Edmund and King Edgar. That would be cool.
I also think King Louis rolls well. William and Kate seem to think so too, considering they used it as a middle name for George and a first name for, well, Louis. BUT, it also sounds very French in my opinion. The French had 16 King Louis (even more if you count the restauration and Louis-Philippe). So would it be ''too French'' for the British monarchy? Maybe. At the same time, it's not like France is the heriditary ennemy anymore. ;-)
Some of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren and great-grandchildren do have nice names that I think could fit a reigning monarch:
Queen Beatrice
Queen Eugenie
Queen Louise
Queen Charlotte
King August
King Ernest
Here are others I think sound nice and seem royally enough:
King Alexander
King Archibald (I prefer the real version than Archie)
King Arthur
King Edwin
King Leopold
King Marcus
King Samuel
King Theodore
Queen Abigail
Queen Amélie or Amelia
Queen Constance
Queen Daphne
Queen Emma (there was a Queen Emma in the late 10th century)
Queen Esther (sounds very Biblical, but I like it!)
Queen Helen
Queen Lydia
Queen Marina
Queen Sarah
Queen Sibyl
Queen Simone

The British Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain died in 1969 so Eugenie has been used quite recently.
During the Georgian period in England, some Princes had the name Augustus (one was a Duke of Sussex).
The French Queen Henrietta Maria of England lived in the 1600's so that name could be revived again.
In England, Jeffrey is usually spelled Geoffrey, Neil, Claude and Sapphire would be considered "chavvy" (eg. low social status). Claude was popular in the French Royal Family. Rose is an aristocratic name but highly unlikely for a Queen's first name.
I would like to see...
King Arthur
King Louis
King Valentine
King Peregrine
King Crispin
King Bartholomew
King Jasper
Queen Cordelia
Queen Genevieve
Queen Charlotte
Queen Matilda
Queen Cecily
Queen Rosamund (instead of Rose)
Queen Guinevere
Some more "out there" names for British royal ladies:
Queen Andromeda
Queen Phaedra
Queen Cressida
Queen Hermione
Queen Euphemia
Queen Theodosia
Queen Jemima
Queen Delilah
Queen Ariadne

I remembered there being a princess named Eugenie. Forgot she was a queen of Spain.
I know the king's great-grandfather was Claude Bowes-Lyon, so I thought there's a pretense.
I know Augustus and Henrietta were used in royal families all across Europe, including Britain.

What do you mean by “haven’t been used” in this context?
names that haven't been used by a king or queen of the UK in recent memory. Other members of the royal family are fair game. I mean we've had enough Edwards, Georges and Elizabeths already.
