Misirlis is really a Greak name derived from Turkish "misirli" which means "Egyptian" (definitely not Gypsy).

In fact there is a popular Greek song called...

Misirlou ("the girl from Eqgypt"), whose twangy US adaptation bacame the soundtrack of "Pulp Fiction" :)
