[Opinions] Prospero
With the ever widening diversity of names, can if be used in America in the 21st century? Or is it too *insert a negative criticism here*.I like it a lot. The sounds is greatly appealing to me, and its literary, Italian, and has a fun meaning to boot.Thoughts? Nona Wren, Astrid Ever, Ezra Constantine, and Prospero... hmm, any mn suggestions? Or it you insist it would be better as a mn than a fn (and, I admit this is probably the case for sane people, of which I am not really), and fn suggestion that would fit with the sibset?Image hosting by Photobucket

I think Prospero could work! You might want to have a nickname~ like Perry, just to avoid teasing.I think the sibset could work. Som combos? Prospero Bernard (Bernardo), Prospero Hortatius (Hortatio), Prospero James... Any of those appeal to you?
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Thanks! Prospero Hortatius / Horatio appeals to me a great deal, actually.Image hosting by Photobucket

I love it. It makes me think of the magician in Shakespeare's the Tempest. I think it's perfectly usable, too.

Thanks! One of the reasons I like it is the Tempest. I love his final monologue especially.Image hosting by Photobucket

I love the epilogue as well - especially since it is the last official thing Shakespeare ever wrote, which gives it a whole lot wider perspective. I've learnt the whole thing by heart in English :-)

Not a name I would use, but I like it, and it would make a great MN! :)How about Nona, Astrid, Ezra and:
Rafe Prospero
Nesrin Prospero
Anton Prospero (my fave)

I like Anton Prospero. Thanks! I feel compelled to point out, though, that Nesrin is a girls name. :-) Not very polite of it to confuse you with the -in ending. It is Turkish and has the reidiculously cool meaning of "wild rose".Image hosting by Photobucket

Oh, no! I didn't even think of it because of the -in ending! I swear I looked at it first, too, because I wasn't sure. I looked too fast though, and I saw it was Turkish and that lettering is dark, and I just looked for the red or the blue and didn't pay attention. Sorry! Oops. Glad you like Anton, though! :)

All I see is Prosper when looking at Prospero. Not a name I would ever consider using so I would stick it in the middle name position.I also like Wren, Astrid, and Ezra Constantine from your list but I would never use them. Just not my style but they are nice.

I think Prospero could work. It's smart, snappy, and offers Perry as a nickname if he can't handle the pressures of being a Prospero. ;)I like the sibset (though I ask myself, "Where's Miro? Where's River?" ;), but I haven't got any Prospero combos for you just now. I'll come back to it later this afternoon. :)Array

Miro and River are sitting off the side with Nesrin, Afton, and a few of their other close friends waiting for me to think of nice combos for them before I post a "ridiculous amount of gilrs, and also two boys" sibset. :-)Hmm... hadn't thought of Perry. Is it wrong that I like Perry becuase of the serial killer in Capote? I'm sure if I read In Cold Blood for real I would feel differently, but just seeing the movie... he was a powerful character, and so well preformed. Just noticed P'ros'pero - could I get Ross out of this? I like that a little better than Perry.Image hosting by Photobucket

I love Prospero and I think I might use it, but as a mn only, otherwise it may come off as a bit pretentuous (or however you spell it :P)

I prefer Prosper - but I think both versions of the name would work best as a middle name. :)

ah! what about Salvatore Prospero? or Luca Prospero? Why are all the male Italian names ending in "o"?!?!? ARG!

Basically, because it is a gendered language. :-) Thanks for the suggestions. coincidently, Salvatore was my great grandfather's name.Image hosting by Photobucket
