I don't like how it's associated with the painting.
Parents with Ethiopian looking names naming their daughter after a famous Italian painting and using a 1st name that doubles as Arabic (Mona is a spelling of Muna)? Kitschy but interesting.
Mona Lisa is a pretty combination, but on a child, it sounds like the parents were trying to be artistic and interesting. Ramona Elisabeth or Mona Elisabeth "Mona Lisa" are less on the nose.
The name itself is pretty, but I dislike how associated it is with the painting.
I like Mona. Mona Lisa isn't too bad - how many people will know the L stands for Lisa, anyways? And it's a nice painting, hardly the worst thing to be named after.
I named a duck Mona Lisa as a teenager. She was Moe for short. Her sisters were Kimberly "Kimi" and Stacey. It's kind of a guilty pleasure but I doubt I would be tempted to use it IRL. But I have definitely read worse in my local paper. One little girl was named "Lemon" a couple years ago 🫠🫠 so I mean.. ya know its fine compared to a lot of things. I'd rather be a painting than a car or a random made up modern name, for instance 😅I do think it is cute for what it's worth. If a little too on the nose is all
