The year is 2008.
in the past 15 years, after Jesse retired and sold his business, him and Florence committed to the New York tradition of moving to Florida when they get old. Jesse was excited to return to the South after 58 years of being a yankee. They sold their loft on the UES, and bought a nice house in Boca Raton.
Rooster and Teresa briefly seperated without divorcing after he suspected her of being unfaithful, but got back together. They moved into a smaller house in north Queens, after partially emptying their nest.
Jacqueline found her life-partner boyfriend, a Chinese Jamaican migrant, working as a home electrician. She herself picked up the trade of the English teacher. They had a son, and have settled down in Boston together.
Adam, Jacqueline's brother, became a commercial fisherman at the advice of uncle Clinton, and got married at the ripe old age of 24 to his girlfriend, a Quebecois IT programmer he met at the port of Quebec City. She became a US citizen through marriage, and the couple settled down in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Leonora is still living with her parents in Queens, studying gastronomy at the Institute of Culinary Education. She met her current boyfriend, an aspiring architect, at her aunt's job at the diamond district.
Daphne retired from the navy, becoming a security manager at the Newark neighbor after 9/11. her sons, Lucien and Wallace, both went to the west coast. Lucien runs "Café Perez" in San Francisco, where he met his current girlfriend.
Wallace, on the other hand, is working as a camera man at a Hollywood film studio. He met his girlfriend, a police officer, at a local park while they were both walking their dogs.
