I spotted this in an article today. It was an unexpected sight! I didn't think I cared much for this name, but seeing it on a real person (a glamourous lawyer) made it much more shiny.What do you think of Elfriede?

Elfriede is a beautiful name, I prefer it over Elfrida

I see the appeal, but it's too heavy and clunky for me. Then again, I love Hildegard...

It's interesting, never cared for it before, but I now see its appeal. However, I think it's only usable in German-speaking countries.

The pronunciation's actually more intuitive to me than Alfreda in English.

This was in Quebec, and I think Elfriede in French would be pretty!

I adore Elfriede! It was once quite popular in Germany. Nobel laureate Elfriede Jelinek is one famous namesake.

Oh! wow! I love this name, my favourite variant - Elfrida, but Elfriede is cool too! What a witchy, mysterious name! I wonder whether Elfriede uses any nicknames!?

The most common is Elfie, followed by Frieda or Friedel.
