Tino and
Chika are now well into their 70s, and enjoying a quiet retirement in Barcelona.
Tino still occasionally takes woodworking commissions from longtime clients, but mostly, he focuses on family life.
Chika, retired from documentary filmmaking, spends much of her time archiving her past work. She still occasionally teaches guest lectures, but like
Tino, she has largely slowed down.
Nellie's career has been flourishing, with her novels translated into multiple languages. The family has moved into a larger flat in
London, with a garden, where
Nellie writes in the early morning while
Aubrey and
Rowan are still asleep.
Cedar's installations have also gained international recognition.
Aubrey has become interested in photography and writing, though, unlike his mother, he is more interested in essays and non-fiction.
Rowan is quieter than his brother, preferring to work sculpt with
Cedar.
Nellie and
Cedar have recently adopted another son: a newborn boy.
Aubrey is excited to have another younger brother,
Rowan is sceptical - he enjoys being the baby of the family.
Rozabela's marine conservation non-profit has expanded across South
America and Southeast
Asia, with
Iseul heavily involved in the legal and advocacy side. They've made a home base in
London - close to
Nellie and
Baz - but travel frequently. They are married now, and have a two-year-old son conceived through IVF.
Baz is part of a project developing offshore wind farms in Northern
Europe, focusing on innovative turbine designs. His work takes him between
London, Copenhagen, and Rotterdam. Rogue's architectural firm has recently completed. His work is featured in architecture magazines, praised for its fusion of historical aesthetics with green innovation.
The couple balances their careers by setting aside weekends for long hikes. Rogue's latest endeavor is building a greenhouse on their rooftop, inspired by
Tino and
Chika's rooftop garden. Rogue has also taken up beekeeping, which has turned into a minor obsession.
Two years ago, they adopted a daughter from Korea, seeing as
Tino is half-Korean. She's an energetic girl who adores nothing more than watching Rogue tend to the bees - when asked what she wants to be when she grows up, she always says she wants to be a beekeeper.
Nnenne's latest novel explored pre-colonial trade routes across
Africa and the Pacific, receiving critical acclaim. She has been dwelving into Oceanic mythology for her next project, with
Tamati as her first reader.
Tamati has been focusing on cultural preservation projects. He recently spearheaded an exhibition on Indigenous maritime technologies. He is teaching
Nnenne Te Reo Māori, and she's picked up enough to converse with his extended family.
Ada's husband grew up in Mexico city. His parents were archaeologists. He's a photographer and amateur guitarist who met
Ada at one of
Cedar's art installations.
Ada's fashion designs have been featured at
London Fashion Week.
She has also collaborated with Indigenous Mexican artisans, incorporating their techniques and patterns into her designs, inspired by her boyfriend. They often travel together, with
Ada across Mexico, Nigeria, and
India.
Ada and her husband have just welcomed their first daughter.
