I find Beverly and Kimberly very strange. Here in South Africa we use the British spelling: Beverley and Kimberley (which is the name of a once-great diamond-mining town, now very run-down).
Anyway, Beverly was never so popular here that I could link it to a particular year or period. My personal associations with it are deeply unpleasant, but that's not the name's fault. Bev is OK as a nn, I suppose. Perhaps Beverly Sophia or Beverly Charlotte would make it more contemporary.
