[Opinions] Chance encounter
There was a set of triplets at the park today. Their names are Holly, Ivy, and Rose.Thoughts?

The first thing that came to mind was that Rose could be from the Christmas Rose and not a typical rose? So the Christmas theme is still present, technically I think this sibling set is very cute and I don't think there's anything wrong with themeing siblings, especially when they get older and break away from their family a bit for their own lives, the theme only really lasts throughout childhood and has little to no impact on adulthood
I would have preferred Ivy, Rose and Hazel. Keeps the botanical theme without the obvious "one is not like the other" element, but it's not a bad set.
I love that it's themed! Holly and Ivy together are very christmassy which makes Rose stand out a bit. And Ivy stands out being so short. Still I love that someone actually did a theme and the names are all lovely.
I usually dislike themed names (Holly and Ivy feel too christmassy for me) but Rose kind of balances it out. It does stand out not ending in -y but thats not necessarily a bad thing. I like the 3 names together
I like Ivy and Rose, but dislike Holly.
Holly and Ivy go together, very Christmas carol like. Rose stands out and does end with y and not 2 syllable or Christmassy. Holly Rose and Lillian would be nice

There is the Christmas Rose (Helleborus)
Never heard of that before, but didn't realise Lily was in the Carol and was thinking of Christmas Lily and would match the y ending and 2 syllables. Christmas bell/Belle are pretty flowers but them no y or 2nd syllable
I love the names. I think they go together, but sound different from each other. I prefer them to rhyming names.
I quite like them! I didn't know of the Christmas song.
Rose is not exactly Christmassy, but of the three, it's by far the best in my opinion.
Ivy sticks out to me. Iris would match more as it's softer.
If Ivy was substitued by Iris it would break the plant theme though. There are many other options that still keep the theme and Ivy sounds soft enough to match the other two.
Iris is a flower though
I like all three names but not together as siblings. It's a bit too much. Using them as middle names would be a nice way to link them.
I like all those names by themselves, but together as a set of triplets they're way too cutesy. I think there's a Christmas story or movie called "Holly and Ivy" too.
Distant memory of a traditional song:
The holly and the ivy
When they are both full grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood
The holly bears the crown. The rising of the sun
and the running of the deer,
the playing of the merry organ,
sweet singing in the choir. (Refrain)The holly bears a blossom,
white as the lily flower,
and Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
to be our sweet Saviour.RefrainThe holly bears a berry,
as red as any blood,
and Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
to do poor sinners good.RefrainIt goes on, but you get the idea!
I think they’re cute! They sound good together and they aren’t too matchy or cutesy. It’s better than a pairing like Rose, Daisy and Violet for example, which to me would be too matchy.
Cringe, especially with the Holly and Ivy pairing.
I assumed it was because of the song.
I immediately thought of Christmas, and I don’t even celebrate it.
