Rather than a media handle, never mind one that was meant to reference the guy's fatness without being actually rude.

True. And what an astonishing reason for nicknaming anyone. Couldn't have happened to Gary Player, who has been an advocate for health and exercise all his long life. I do prefer Gareth, though!
