Odysseus is definitely one of them
I really like Agape. The meaning is adorable (derived from the Greek for love), but I simply love the sound. A-GA-PEH. Flows well. It feels so strange to me that the name isn't more popular. Like a fancier version of Agathe. ;)
Amongst my favorites, there is also Hortense, which I think doesn't translate well into English. The word ''tense'' in it might sound strange to English speakers. It might explain why it tends to be voted quite low when I do polls. But in French, it flows soooooo nicely. It feels like the most romantic name there is.
I really love Marcelle as a feminine name. I feel the sounds in ''elle'' in general are softer and cuter when they are feminine. It's certainly cultural, but Marcel for a men feels a bit dated in French. Whereas the feminine version is just so original and rare.
Geoffroi is another one I like that usually gets downvoted in my list. I know the spelling feels a bit too fancy, but that's a quality I like about it.
I'm gonna finish with Arsinoe. I know English speakers dislike it because of the sound ''Ars''. I don't think I'd chose it for a child, but I enjoy the sound and English is not my first language, so an ''as*'' isn't the first thing that comes to mind. :P

Yeah, Hortense in an American accent isn't very pleasant but I can imagine it sounding much better in a French accent.
I do like Agape and Arsinoe and I think Geoffroi is fun - I like French names in general and medieval French ones are fun. But I have a similar name on my list, Guillermina, the feminine of Guillermo, which most people don't seem to like lol I also find it fancy and pretty lol

Hmmm... Looking at what other people chose, I guess I don't really like too many "weird" names. But I hope it's ok I share my guilty pleasures.
1. Maple - I love this name. I'm Canadian and a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. It has a similar sound to Mabel, which makes it sound like a name. It gives off similar vibes as other Victorian nature names. I don't think I'm brave enough to use it. Maybe as a middle name!
2. Minerva - I don't know why, but I really like this name. Athena does nothing for me, but Minerva sounds cool. I don't think I'm brave enough to use it.
3. Paisley - I think this is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I really like this name, but it sticks out like a sore thumb on my list. I'd never use it because it sounds SO out of place amongst my other favourites. But I genuinely like this name.
4. Nicodemus - I loved the story Rats of NIMH as a child. I think this is why I also have a soft spot for Justin. Of course, a kid might not be thrilled that they were named after a rat.
5. Peregrine - I love its literary, historical, and nature connections. Plus, the nn Perry is too cute. But it is a touch offbeat for me.

I like Casimir and Blaze!
Aster is a great unisex one.

Todd and Drew?? Are they weird because of where you live?
A few years ago, BTN claimed that Todd was the most sporadic name in the US charts. It would appear on the charts then disappear. Then appear, then disappear. And so on. The name is familiar, but not popular and may never become as popular again. Other names upstage it. Todd doesn't really fall into any trend that would help it come back. It fades into the background a lot.
Most people in the US would never use Drew as a name by itself. It's almost always a nickname for Andrew - and even then, most Andrews are probably known as Andys.
It's not about the names being weird - I was asked about the *weirdest* names that I *loved*. I like plenty of weird names, but I love so few of them. It took me a long time to read through the database and find unpopular or strange ones that I loved. I knew there would be some raised eyebrows. The other candidates just didn't make it.

I don't know about the original poster, but Todd would be funny where I live. Drew might only work because it's more known, but in itself it would be strange in Dutch. But especially Todd is a bit odd...
Olivine
Alafare
Fairlight
Willadean
Brite
Ellerbe
Devereaux
Ferebee
Everdeen
I didn't realize I was drawn to so many names with the "fair", "bee" and "dean" sound!

I love weird names, but for this I decided to go with the five lowest rated names for both genders on my guilty pleasure list because I'm assuming the weirder, the least votes lol

Éleuthère
Bedwyr
Bayek
Dinadan

GIRL
Guillermina
Oniria

I think most of these names are pretty normal, if a little old fashioned (I know several Lelands and Elmers and they're elderly).
I like Lysander and Idony a lot myself lol
