I hate Alice! It seems naive/snobby maybe?
Alys is much better; I think because Alyssa seems friendlier.
I also hate Alison but like Allie (and various spellings).
Alix is ok; I think it just looks like feminized Alex.

I can see what you mean with Alice. The Alices I've known have been anything but snobby and naive. They're all powerful women with the name that it doesn't sound powerful.
