[Opinions] Names that sound like Aliyah
My friends are adopting a one year old!! Everyone is beyond themselves with joy. This is the greatest blessing. Her name from the foster care system is Aliyah, but they are not fond of the name. It’s been recommended that they chose a similar name so as not to confuse her too much. Any names that begin with “A” that maybe sound like Aliyah? Thank you!

Alia

Leah seems like a good compromise, as they'd only be removing one syllable. Sound-wise, the name is almost intact.
Otherwise:
Alina
Alicia
Elisha/Elysha
Maria
Sophia
Priya
Thea
Tia
Alison; Antonia; AnnabelI suggest they start by calling her Aliyah-Annabel or whatever, and gradually drop the Aliyah.
How about Callia? ;)
It's pronounced practically the same wayThere's also:
Alita
Amalia
Alina
Lyra
Elisa
Irina
Lillia
Lucia
Elysia
Karina
