It is not greek for star. It is derived from greek for star "aster". It also isn't greek name. It was name used in Soviet era with mostly communist intent. I prefer Zirka, Zvezda. But Zirka more than Zvezda :)
I also like "zvizka" but I think it's too obscure variant word for be name. It's varairt word for star in Surzhyk.
Though Astrela is very nice name :)Eta Astrela reminds me of "shoot" strelyat'

Ok, I think that ruined it!
I feel like it could be used as name in modern English, it would not have communist connotation there and sounds like trendy name Some of communist soviet names are ok (like Astrela, it isn't related to 100% horrible part of communism and could be not communist in other places of world) and some are well ... not, to say the least.
