[Opinions] Re: Cleopatra?

1. I think it's a bit of a Madonna name; there's one Cleopatra, and everyone else sounds a bit silly with the name. You need some serious style to pull this one off. I do, however, love Cleo, Clea (CLEE-ah), Cleone (CLEE-oh-nee), and Cleona (clee-OH-nah).
Cleopatra's nice--I won't fault that--but I do wonder if it's a bit much as a first name. It offers Cleo, Pattie/Patti/Patty, and Pat as "grown up" nickname options, which does make it more useable, IMO. Perhaps as a middle name? You could still call her by it--she could totally be, like, J. Cleopatra Stills, but if she wasn't comfortable with Cleo, she could go by her first name.
2. The reaction would depend where you live, I suspect. If you're surrounded by Jacobs and Emilys, I think that little Cleopatra could have some difficulties with her name. If she's growing up with other kids who have more unusual names, it might work out better for her.
3. Cleopatra Scarlett
Cleopatra Janine
Cleopatra Saffron
Cleopatra Tamsin
Cleopatra Charlotte
Cleopatra Ruth
Cleopatra Olive
Cleopatra Quinn
Cleopatra Florence
Cleopatra Simone
Ivy Cleopatra
Jane Cleopatra
Eleri Cleopatra
Simone Cleopatra

It probably is a 'one person name' even though there was more than one queen with the name. However I do like Cleo, Clea, Cleone and Cleona, thanks for suggesting them!
Actually, I would probably only have the 'guts' to use it as a middle name - I like Jane Cleopatra & Simone Cleopatra. I also like Cleopatra Simone & Cleopatra Ruth, thanks!
