[Opinions] WDYTO Sadler?
I frequent a birth board for my newest addition and of course I love to see what everyone is naming their little babes. I think this is the strangest so far. WDYT?I don't like that it has 'sad' in the name and it also makes me think of saddle. prn EH-vah =)

To me its just a last name. I used to be best friends with a guy who had this last and pretty good friends with his younger brother. So Sadler is not one that I would use for a first around here.

I agree with everything you said, but still I do think that Sadler is an interesting name, and not in a bad way! It definitely sticks out from all the Jacobs and Aidans - when I browse birth announcements, a rare, not weirdly spelled name such as Sadler is such a nice change from all the Jacobs and Aidans! No offence meant there, Emily is amongst my own favorite names :)

I agree that it's not terribly attractive as a fn (or mn, for that matter). BTW, I love your profile pic! What a gorgeous family. :) Can't wait to see a pic of baby Kieran.

LOL, yes. He came on June 30th as scheduled =) But not before I started to go into labor at about 2:30 am. So he got in about 4 hours of painful contractions before he came out. Oh I was so mad. :pHere's the link to my original post. http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=576131&board=baby

I knew a guy with this name when I was in junior high. We're in our early 30s now, so I guess his parents were way ahead on the occupation name thing. At the time I never thought about its meaning. He was a very cute, popular guy, so he could've been named about anything I guess, but people really liked his name from what I remember.

I think of a saddle and how "sad" a kid will be with the name Sadler.

I find it a really unfortunate, desperate attempt to cash in on the -er surnames trend without picking a "trendy" name. Everyone's still going to be able to guess how old Sadler is, and his name's going to be misspelled Saddler or Sandler constantly, I bet. I know I have to make a conscious effort to write out Sadler. What'll we see next? Peddler? Or, going in the pattern of Sadler, I suppose it'd be Pedler, huh? :-/Array

...And then he said, "You're independent, aren't you?"
