[Opinions] Poe?
I was working at the Petsmart adoption day today, and one mother was looking for a small dog that her daughter could play with. Anyway, I'm not really sure what her daughter's name was, but it sounded like she was calling her Poe. Has anyone ever heard this used as a name before? Wdyt? I think it'd be a cute nn, but I wouldn't use it as a full fn or anything.

I love Poe as a name! It's a guilty pleasure of mine : )
I also like Poet & Poem as names, haha.

I think is beautiful.
I think of the singer and Edgar Allen. It's mysterious and elegant.

This may well have been a nickname. Po or Poe does turn up in the South as a nickname for a small child fairly often. I have a friend originally from the South who still sometimes calls his son (now 19 years old) Po, though his official first name is Davidson.
its cute for a nn or a middle
Hopefully not, unless she was a Teletubby :b

I love both the writer and the singer...
So I like this name for either sex, preferably as a middle name.

I like Poe as a NN for Poet
I'd say it's a Teletubbies reference, or maybe a short form of Pauline? (unlikely, I know.)
My first impression was Edgar Allan. Maybe it was a NN. I don't think I mind it in and of itself, but I wouldn't use it as a full name. I really like EAP, so it would be a cool association, but only in NN form.

It immediately makes me think of the singer (band?), then Edgar Allan Poe, then I have a fleeting thought of Teletubbies. The first two associations are nice and all, but it's just kind of weird as a name.
