[Opinions] Arrah
My friend who is doing family research found a female in her family named Arrah, and it caught my attention. I'm guessing it'd be pronounced as Are-uh. Just wondering what you all thought.Lissa

The spelling of Arrah isn't too appealing to me, but I do really like Ara : )I would be more inclined to pronounce it as AHR-ah, which is also how I pronounce Ara.

I'd pronounce Arrah and Ara the same, but I think the added r and h make it look more complete. :)Lissa

I think it's an interesting one, but I don't like the spelling. Reminds me of my screenname and of my sister's name--she's a Sara. One of my friends at school has a friend called Aara, pronunced AIR-uh (not sure if you mean the first syllable to rhyme with "care" or "car," but Aara's rhymes with "care"). I think that's prettier--on the one hand, it's a lot of A's, but on the other, it's obviously meant to sound like Aaron with an A at the end.Array

I was guessing the pronunciation with it rhyming with car. But who knows, really?Lissa

Ooh, your pronunciation caught my attention. It's like Aura. Now that's pretty, but I'm not sure it would be quite right to name someone Aura. Arrah is safe, and very pretty. Yeah, I like it! Do you know how far back (timewise) the name was?Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
