Perhaps the spelling "Howell" would be more appropriate. I would use it as a mn.

Howell was, in the book, the original spelling of Howl, I believe. Howl's sister used that spelling, but Howl himself and everyone else used Howl. I'm not sure I really like the spelling Howell... it reminds me too much of Howard, and I really don't like that name.
