I couldn't use it because then I'd have to refer to "when I had Mercy..."
I think it's nice, I love Mer- names and it's attractive and usable. It's just not quite my style. I guess because the concept of mercy implies the concept of peril or sin, and so the name is vaguely melancholy to me.
Oh, and it fails the boom boom test most ridiculously.
