I've always said "MAHR-ee-bell" (or MARE-ee-bell, in the case of the little old lady whose mother meant it as a combination of Mary and Belle).
I have to admit that I prefer MARE-ee-bell (turns into MARE-ih-bell when I say it quickly), simply because it flows along better in my accent (I'm a lazy Midwesterner, ha). Unfortunately, using that would make people assume that I'm stupid and ignorant (just as Jose "JOHZ" would make people assume I'm ignorant, when I'd be deriving the name for Josiah, sigh).
