[Facts] Esther in Hebrew
What is the Hebrew version of Esther? Does it have a meaning? I heard that it's related to the Hebrew word for "secret". Are many people in Israel named whatever is the Hebrew version of Esther? Thanks in advance! :)

It's Ester (es-TER)And it might come from secret, from the word seter, lehastir, to hide. But the story goes that the Biblical Ester wanted to hide the fact that she was Jewish so she took a Persian name instead of her original Hebrew name, Hadassah. From that, we can know that it was a Persian name, and she used it because it was a Persian name, probably with no relation to the Hebrew word for secret. And there are women in Israel named Ester. Don't know if it's many.

Esther means star in persian, the midrash says that the name of book is a clue to "hester" because Go-d's name is not reminded in the book of Ester (hester panim) and the name Ester (Esti, Eti etc.) is popular
