Rue is okay as a mn, but I agree with Elemmennope that it just reminds me of "street" in French.

Rue reminds me of streets, but I still think that it's nice. I prefer it as a nickname for Ruby and Ruth though. Ryo, Ru, and Ryuu are nms for a girl.

Rue is okay. I don't particularly like it but it's still okay. I think of Rue Maclanahan (sp?) from Golden Girls and I like that show so I find it hard to not like the name.

Rue translates as regret to me ("I rue the day you were born!"), so that's a big no for me. Then there's the fact that it's French for street, and it sounds like a short form of kangaroo. That said, Ru is the best spelling imo.

To rue means to regret. So no I don't like it, it isn't a very flattering name. And the other spellings look made-up and silly.

I see it as the same as naming your child "street, but as a mn I could stand it. Ru, Ryoo and Ryu aren't variants imo (just look at : Ryo and Ryuu.... and Ru for that matter).

I think of Rue McLanahan who was on Golden Girls and she played Blanche.

Ryu/Ryoo and Rue aren't pronunced the same way in the slightest, so they aren't spelling variations.
