Rue is okay as a mn, but I agree with Elemmennope that it just reminds me of "street" in French.
Rue is okay. I don't particularly like it but it's still okay. I think of Rue Maclanahan (sp?) from Golden Girls and I like that show so I find it hard to not like the name.

Rue McClanahan
I love The Golden Girls! Rue McClanahan's character Blanche was hilarious, even though she was kind of... loose.
That's my first association with the name Rue.

Rue translates as regret to me ("I rue the day you were born!"), so that's a big no for me. Then there's the fact that it's French for street, and it sounds like a short form of kangaroo. That said, Ru is the best spelling imo.

To rue means to regret. So no I don't like it, it isn't a very flattering name. And the other spellings look made-up and silly.
Ryu/Ryoo and Rue aren't pronunced the same way in the slightest, so they aren't spelling variations.
Besides that,
Main Entry: rue
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): rued; ru·ing
transitive verb : to feel penitence, remorse, or regret for
intransitive verb : to feel sorrow, remorse, or regret
Otherwise, I would Rue very pretty. But as it is, I'd save it for a character--maybe as a middle name.
