[Opinions] How would you pronounce...
Lettice? When i first saw it I always just assumed it would be pronounced Leh-TEECE, but someone told me it was pronounced LET-is. What do you think? Also is it too close to Lettuce to be useable? TIA!

the same as lettuceand I think most people, rather than try to change it by emphasising the second syllable (let-TEECE instead of LETT-iss) would just think you'd named your kid after a vegetable! I did read a book once where a character was named Lettice, but I think it was short for Letitia.

If it were me, I'd call the child Lettice and pronounced it leh-TEES. It may not be "correct", but -ice endings can be pronounced that way. Who could tell me that I was wrong? Besides, many people are going to pronounce it that way anyway (after all, who would give a child a name that sounds like "lettuce"?).

It's pr. like the vegetableBut at first I too pronounced it le-TEES.I really like the name Lettice, but I'd never use it because of, well, "lettuce". Lettice Knollys alone is a cool, if not entirely admirable namesake.

Yah, the first thing I thought of was lettuce. YUM! Anway, I personally would pronounce it Lett-ees. Sort of like Letitia, but instead of the -ia an -ice. I wouldn't use if for a child, and on paper it would look too much like Lettuce imo.

Ditto, like the first two syllables of Letitia/Leticia.
