[Facts] Re: Scharpe

Scharp is a German surname, the Low German equivalent of the normal German names Scharf or Scharpf. All of them have the same derivation as the English surname Sharp or Sharpe, "sharp, cutting, quick-witted." Scharpe is probably either a variation of the German name, or a respelling of the English surname Sharpe by someone who was influenced by German spelling in their note-taking.

It could also have a meaning to do with 'shoes.'
