Newsreader on national news. Aela (said the same as Ella)

I would have though "i ella", "a ella", or like the name Ayla.
It's not a horrible name (when pronounced like the above), but it doesn't all look like Ella to me. I love Ella, either on its own or as a NN, when it's spelled Ella. Other than that, it's too confusing.
As for Aela, I'd spell it Aella, and I much prefer Ariella.

Aela does nothing for me. But I've always loved Aelia, an ancient Roman girl's name pronounced, "AY-lia."
