For awhile I had moved away from using family names in my combos, but now I'm liking the idea of them again. However, this presents a dilemma for me because I'm closer to my mother's side of the family than my father's side, yet I like more of the names from that side.
For instance, my sisters are
Amina Marcia (pronounced mar-SEE-uh) and
Valerie Joyce. I'm closer to
Amina, but dislike her names whereas I love both
Valerie and Joyce...but we're not close. The same with my grandmothers. I was close to my maternal grandmother,
Gladys Antoinette, but had a severe dislike of my other grandmother
Joyce.
It wouldn't be an issue, but I would hate to hurt my mother's and sister's feelings by choosing names from the other side of my family when it's no secret that I'm not close with them. I know that my mom would never even acknowledge that it bugged her, because she would want me to make my own choices, but I also know that it would bug her.
So...what would you do if you were me? Keep in mind I'm not actually planning to have children for at least a few years.
Also, can you think of any variants or alternatives for:
AminaMarciaValerieJoyceGladysLouise (my mother's mn)
Odessa (my mother's mn)
Also, what would you think of using my mother's maiden name, Riles, as a mn for a son or daughter? Too much of a stretch?
