I like
Elliot fairly well, it's a nice masculine sounding name that brings a fairly youthful image with it to my mind. It also has a bit of a corperative edge feel to it, like a lawyer or high power buisnessman sound to it.
My immediate association is it's use as a surname for
Anne Elliot, the heroine of
Jane Austen's novel
Persuasion which is one of my favorites. It also makes me think of
Elliot in the movie
E.T. and then also of
Billy Elliot. I prefer the spelling
Elliott because it seems more complete to me but either is nice.
Nicholas is a very strong masculine name with a little bit of regal edge to it. It also has a kind sound to it and is a bit popular.

I hope this helps!
Elliot and
Nicholas would make great names for brothers! :)
