[Opinions] Selma.

It looks like I'm going into yet another direction with names. :-/ First Hebrew, then Saints, then Swedish. LOLAnyway, Selma has suddenly caught my eye. I really love it. It has an older feeling, but has never been too popular.

No, I don't like it at all. It reminds me of Selma from the Simpsons. And, I just don't like it.

Well my first thought is Selma Blair and Salma Hayek, then Aunt Selma on the Simpsons.I don't really care for the sound though. I'd rather see you with a son named Anselm. Or perhaps a daughter named Sela : )

I think of Selma Blair and Aunt Selma, too. I want to like it but I don't care for the sound either.

I picture a fat, capable American woman who is perpetually holding a rolling-pin ... and I don't know why! Lol. It could grow on me all the same ... It's prettier than similar names Irma, Velma, Thelma._____________________________________________________________________♥Elinor♥

Selma is very hip. I think there's something a little too austere in the name...a little stuffy, if you know what I mean. In terms of -lma names, (and Swedish ones, too), I prefer Alma.

Selma has been a favourite of mine for a long time, too. It has some of that old-fashioned retro-appeal, but it's also kind of cool and refreshing. And very beautiful and strong, too, IMO.____________________________________________________I've got soul, but I'm not a soldier

More and more girls here in Sweden are named Selma, but for me it'a a dog name.
