[Opinions] Euphemia / Effie
Recently I saw a little girl on TV, she was probably about 2, with the name Effie and it was short for Euphemia. It doesn't seem like something I'd normally like, but I really do.I think I like it for the same reason I like Virginia: I like the classic, femininity of Virginia, and the cuteness of Ginger. Same goes for Euphemia and Effie. So, wdyt? Any combo suggestions would be great as well. Thanks a lot :)

I really like Euphemia. I'm not sure about combos. I tend to stick Greek names with other Greek names.

I love Virginia and think that Ginger is quite cute. But to be completely honest, Euphemia sounds a bit like some sort of disease.

I love Eudora! I also love Eula and Eugene. I usually like Eu names, but Euphoria just doesn't sound as nice to me.

Lolit's Euphemia, not Euphoria. I actually typed that at first by accident too. It might be a cool name, though! :D

I adore the name Effie. I first came across it in a book about Victorian women and fell in love with it. I think it makes a great nn for Euphemia, but strangely enough I prefer it on its own. It is also a Scottish girl's name (Oighrig) meaning "new speckled one." I also confess a love for the name Ginger. Those two soft "g" sounds followed by an "r" sound are irrestistible. I know Ginger doesn't have the best reputation with most people so I was thrilled to read it could be a nn for Virginia. Virginia is one of those over-looked treasures, in my opinion. Love Virginia, nn Ginger. Euphemia Alice, nn Effie

I love it! Effie is a really cute nickname and I like Euphemia even though its a bit unusual. Virginia I'm less fond of but the nickname Ginger is quite cool.Eleanor x
