Obadiah is a bit "too much" for me, even though I do love old-fashioned names. I think it's the "-iah" ending that gets me. Have you ever considered Obed? (pr OH-bed) It sounds similar, is also Old Testament biblical, and lacks the fussy ending. Unfortunately, I'm not sure many people recognize Obed as a name.
