[Opinions] Ever like/not like name because of a celebrity?
Have you ever liked a name more because a celebrity had it? Have you ever liked a name less because a celebrity had it?
I really liked the name Cameron for a girl before Diaz came along, and liked Ashton as well... until Kutcher. Not saying these celebrities are not adorable, but now the names are "out there", and does not seem special anymore.
Do you have anything you like/dislike?

I like Johnny because of Johnny Depp, I like Angelina because of Angelina Jolie(I may be alone, but I don't think she's all that bad of a person), I like Halle because of Halle Berry, Lily Rose, because of Johnny Depp's daughter, Ewan because of Ewan McGregor, and Owen because of Owen Wilson.
Names I don't like because of the celebs.:
Paris, becuase of Paris Hilton
Britney / Brittany, because of Britney Spears
Coco - Yes, I know, Coco Chanel, but I don't like the name
Prince - I can't believe Michael Jackson would name his son Prince Michael (I guess it's the second)
Marilyn - Yes, Marilyn Monroe was great, but there's also Marilyn (not sure if that's how he spells it) Manson - um... eww...

I had never heard of the name Ewan until I became somewhat obsessed with Ewan McGregor. Now I love it. :b
I loved the name Jude for a while, partly because of the gorgeous Mr. Law and partly because it's just a very cool name. But I like it considerably less now since the whole "Nanny scandal" thing (I've lost a lot of respect for him, too). :-/
Those are the only two I can think of right now. But I know what you mean about names not feeling quite so "special" anymore. The names of many celebrities--esp. the less common the name and the more popular the celeb--seem downright trendy, just because it's the name of a celebrity. :(

I used to really like Paris for a boy, but because of the rise of Paris Hilton, the kid would probably be assumed a girl. And she's also made the name lose much of its regard.
Also, Keira used to be my favourite girl name but with the popularity of Keira Knightley the name has become to trendy.
On the other hand, I think I like the name Hayden because of Hayden Christensen, and Tamzin because of Tamzin Outhwaite.

Sometimes we probably wouldn't have even heard of the name if it weren't for the celebrity...or the celebrity's kid! For example, Keanu (Reeves) Gwyneth (Paltrow) Those are good names.
Can't really think of a name I like that's been "ruined" by a celebrity. If I really liked it they'd have to be pretty annoying or unethical to do so. If the celeb makes the name too popular though, then I tend to get bored with it. I liked some of these names before they were even popular. I'm a trend-setter I tell you! and I haven't even had any kids to name!
Re: Cameron- I think of this as a boy's name anyway. Though perhaps as a result it's been pushed more to the girl's camp.

Not really, but...
I know of two names I started to adore even more because of celebrities.
I have always loved the names Jonathan and Nicholas - I've always said I wanted three boys, and my first son would be Nicholas and the second would be Jonathan (no nns).
When I was in fifth grade, I was big on Home Improvement and was in love with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Which made me want to use Jonathan even more (and probably why I think Thomas is cute, and only like Taylor on a boy to this day!).
A few years later, the Backstreet Boys came out, and I am guilty of liking their music and Nick (full name Nicholas) from the group which made me adore the name even more also
I am not big on celebrities anymore, and really dont care about them. However, I still love Jonathan and Nicholas even if they arent on my list to be used (mainly because my boyfriend said no)
