Carlisle seems too surname-y for me, but I wouldn't mind so much to see at as a first name. Even though the names aren't related to Carlisle, I'd much prefer Charles or even Carl.

Now that I've tried to make combos, I think it would sound much better as a middle name. If you reverse any of those suggestions, they sound much better than if Carlisle were the first name.
