I think it's a good choice - has a lovely sound and not too common.
How about spelling it Carlyle (like the surname of the famous British writer Thomas Carlyle)?
Carlisle is the name of an English city - Carlyle seems more of a person's name to me.
It also naturally invites the nicknames Carl/Lyle if need be.
