I really don't like the X in it, for some reason; I far prefer Beatrice. I love the NN Bea, though. :D

Adore it.I can picture myself using it, it's both English and German (which covers two of my nationalities) and it's got so much old-world charm to it :DPossible mns:Beatrix Elena / Beatrix Helena / Beatrix Yelena
Beatrix Persephone
Beatrix Aurelia
Beatrix Mariposa (means "butterfly" in Spanish)
Beatrix Evelyn
Beatrix Lucia
Beatrix Lenora / Beatrix Lenore
Beatrix Vienna

Beatrix Helena is *gorgeous*! And Beatrix Persephone has so much spunk! Beatrix Aurelia is beautiful, as is Beatrix Mariposa. I also love Beatrix Lenore.
Wow, what a fabulous list! I think of them, Beatrix Persephone and Beatrix Mariposa are my favourites. Thank you so much!

Beatrix is dreadful. "Bea" could be used for any name starting with B.

I know it can but I didn't go out looking for a name that I could use Bea for. I like Beatrix and the nn Bea was an added bonus for me.

Love it, and love it!I've always preferred Beatrix to Beatrice because it has a certain kicky attitude that the somewhat dowdy Beatrice couldn't dream of pulling off. I fell in love with the nn Bea when I saw the movie Hideous Kinky. Kate Winslet's character has the cutest little daughter by the name. It really made me see what a simple, pretty name it was.

Beatrix is my 2nd fave, love it

I like it, it's up there in my faves. I'd use Bebe, though. Bea makes me think of Bea Arthur, so that's a plus. I only really like "Bea" if you say "bee-uh"; if it's "bee" use Bee.

Prefer Beatrice, but I like it, and Bea is wonderful. :)

I love Beatrix, and Beatrix Potter for that matter, but not Bea.

I LOVE Beatrix and have selected Skye possibly for a middle name. I prefer the Polish way though. It is spelled Beatrycze.

I personally dont like it at all. Bea reminds me of Friends (TV show). Ross singing "I am Bea, I drink tea, wont you dance around with me" when he was a kid (it was in an episode).Anyway, I do (did) have a friend that was obsessed with this name because of Trixie Belden (?) books. NN Trixie of course. Trixie is a cute nn, but I dont like Beatrix or Bea.
