Linden, as in the lime tree, perhaps?
Or snake, as in Belinda? (Betlindis originally)
Or river? Lindisfarne is River-Land, and it was probably not so much the name of a river, originally, as a Celtic word for river or stream.
Probably not the Spanish for pretty!
