I like Joy. It is sweet and simple. I like Joyce better as a middle name because it is rather dated. (My mom's name is Joyce). PLus I think it is better to try to pair a nice short name with a long last name.

I like Joy. Joyce is alright too, both on boys and girls (my research tells me it's at very least unisex: from either Jodocus or Jodoca, but I haven't found whether the modern Joyce derives from the masculine or the feminine form specifically yet).

Ilona doesn't really mean joy, but in Finnish ilo=joy and I think many Finnish parents who have chosen to call their daughter Ilona really think that it means what it sounds...

I like the name Joy! :) It's pretty and simple. It's nice. I think it would go fine with a five-syllable last name, and I definately prefer it to Joyce. I like Aliza, but I don't like Rina spelled that way. I prefer Reena. :) That means "born again", so it's kind of like joy.... maybe... not really... oh well! :)

I also like Lovejoy. LOL. Joy is my middle name, and I'm named after my aunt Joy Marie so I'm a bit biased, but I still like it. Joy is named after (I'm pretty sure...) my grandma Joyce Ellen. I don't prefer Joyce to Joy though. I like Joy much better.

Rina is nice. I don't like Aliza (or Eliza, for that matter... no offense). I also like Rina as a nn for Katarina, but then it really wouldn't mean Joy. And strangely... Katarina Joy is one of my favorite combos. :)

Joy to me doesnt seem like a name. Joyce is a little better, but if I were you, I would chose a name meaning joy. Aliza is nice and so in Rina.
